Just after Commencement, the Van Wickle Gates vanished. It took four men and a boom truck to move them to DeAngelis Iron Work in Providence, where they spent their summer vacation while crews dug trenches for new hot-water lines on the Front Campus. By mid-August the gates were back on their hinges and ready to admit the class of 2012.
