Jamelle Watson-Daniels spoke of the marginalization she experienced in the physics department at Brown, and how a simplistic story of her success as Brown’s first black female physics graduate wouldn’t be entirely truthful. She urged seniors not to erase painful aspects of their stories, holding the community accountable to “our collective commitment to human equality.” Similarly, Sabrina Imbler articulated the fierce love that she and other student activists have for Brown that inspired them to push it, through protests, to become better.
