Art From Lobster Ropes

December 22nd, 2014

On the Front Green last fall artist Orly Genger ’01 set up You, her installation honoring Brown’s 250th anniversary. Made of paint and rope salvaged from lobster traps, the piece is U-shaped and meandering. “I hope to create an area for people to walk into,” she says. “I’ve been interested in the idea of space having a physical nature to it so that people can feel like they’re actually being held by this space.”
