M. Grace Calhoun ’92 became Penn’s athletic director…. After twenty-six years, more than 300 victories, and four Ivy titles, women’s basketball coach Jean Marie Burr announced her retirement…. The ski team finished third in the alpine portion of the USCSA National Championships.…. Dennis Robertson ’14 signed a contract with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes.… Garnet Hathaway ’14 signed with the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat, an affiliate of the Calgary Flames…. At the Brown-hosted Ivy League Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, Briana Borgolini ’14 finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke, and Megan Viohl ’17 set school records in the 1,000-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle…. At the men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, Tommy Glenn ’14 set a pool record in the 100 butterfly and both school and meet records in the 200, while the freestyle-relay team broke the Brown 200 time and the medley squad set a school record in the 400…. At the Ivy League Indoor Track & Field Championships, Morayo Akande ’16 won the high jump; Peter Rhodes ’15 won the heptathlon; and Brown’s 4x800 meter relay team swam the second-fastest time in program history…. Men’s water polo posted a 3.490 GPA, best in Division I.… Pitcher Kevin Carlow ’13 signed as a non-drafted free agent with the St. Louis Cardinals.… Ten students earned Academic All-Ivy honors: political science concentrator Ophir Bernstein ’15 (wrestling), human health & biology concentrator Briana Borgolini ’14 (swimming & diving), business, entrepreneurship, organizations (BEO) concentrator Lauren Clarke ’14 (basketball), economics concentrator Amanda Engelhardt ’15 (skiing), economics concentrator Tommy Glenn ’14 (swimming & diving), health & human biology concentrator Kathryn Hawrot ’14 (fencing), economics concentrator Sean McGonagill ’14 (basketball), international relations concentrator Peter Rhodes ’15 (indoor track & field), BEO concentrator Dennis Robertson ’14 (hockey), and neuroscience concentrator Michelle Shnayder ’14 (gymnastics).
