Early in Heffner’s presidency he traveled to Denver as the featured speaker at a dinner (“Remembering President Heffner,” Elms, January/February). There was enough interest generated to start the Rocky Mountain Brown University Club. As our thank-you for his remarks we presented President Heffner with a brown Stetson cowboy hat. The next day Heffner flew to Seattle with his suitcase and hatbox. Upon arriving at his hotel, he discovered a suitcase full of a woman’s clothes, leaving him with only his Brown Stetson wearable for his dinner that night.
