The Class of 1991 achieved record attendance for our 20th reunion this year. We enjoyed a beautiful warm spring night on Friday at a pre-Campus Dance dinner outside Manning Chapel--a new reunion tradition--as we caught up with old friends. Campus Dance was its usual crowded, festive affair, with the Class of 1991 tables nestled between Faunce, Manning and the (very large, but always oversubscribed) bar. Those of us staying on campus headed back for a late night party back at Chapin, our dorm headquarters, with pizza and drinks and more catching up on the porch.
Saturday's Field Day was again a big hit, especially with the kids, who enjoyed music from Dave Binder and Melissa Levis '91, a soccer clinic, a jewelry-making station, and other activities. There was also rumors of an alumni rugby game in the afternoon.
The Saturday Class Dinner moved on campus this year to Pembroke Field House, and it was another big hit. The kids were entertained by balloon artists, hula hoops, and other toys before dinner, and a DJ spun 80s tunes that attracted more under-10s to the dance floor than over 40s. But the Class closed down the tent after 11 p.m. with more catching up and re-establishing Brown ties. Finally, a group of faithful 91ers marched in the Commencement parade on Sunday morning, proudly carrying the Class Banner and cheering on older alums as well as the freshly minted Class of 2011.
A very memorable weekend, indeed!
