I liked "Who Needs Paper?" but my brother in Maine has a different take on it (Arts & Culture, March/April.) He works in Rumford, the paper mill town where we grew up, and has done so for more than thirty years (my father worked there for more than forty-two). During those thirty years, my brother has seen the mill go from twelve papermaking machines to four or five, and a lot of Maine paper mills have closed. So he understandably hopes that people will still use paper.
