An Inspiring Friend

May 13th, 2010

Darryl Thierse '89, who died on September 11 in Los Angeles, was so much more than a brilliant and gifted actor (Obituaries, March/April). He became one of the most inspiring people in my life. I met him when I was a teaching assistant at Brown under Professor George Monteiro in the fall of 1986. After class, at the Rock, we held some of the best conversations that I have ever experienced. I hope Brown will honor him for his many extraordinary gifts as a widely acclaimed actor and as a magnificent person.
