The Sustainable Endowments Institute gave Brown its top grade on its College Sustainability Report Card for the second consecutive year.... Med student Rajiv Kumar, founder of the weight-loss program Shape Up RI, was one of only ten people in the country to receive a Community Health Leaders Award from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.... Professor of Medical Science Walter Atwood is to lead a team awarded a $6 million National Institutes of Health grant to study the rare brain disease PML.... As part of its effort to cut $30 million from the University's budget, the administration offered a buyout to employees over age sixty with ten years at Brown.... Author Rajmohan Gandhi, a grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, gave a talk about his grandfather and Martin Luther King Jr. on campus November 15.... Brown students have installed 65,665 compact fluorescent bulbs in low-income RI homes since March 2008.... Brown was first among the Ivies and third among U.S. research universities in the number of Fulbrights awarded this year.
