Kudos to Christina Eng '91 for a marvelous appreciation of libraries ("Bookin' It," Alumni POV, September/October). I have heard too many administrators at too many universities dismiss libraries as "warehouses for books" rather than repositories of knowledge, so it is wonderful to have someone explain so gracefully that libraries are places of "discovery and adventure and beauty and delight."

I naturally regarded books as a "sentence" in my growing years and now regard books as the eternal release from everyday monotony. Libraries will always be a place of refuge in my heart.
