Doubles partners Jamie Cerretani '04 and Aisam Qureshi claimed a 6–4, 6–3 two-set win over Roger Federer and Marco Chiudinelli at the Davidoff Swiss Indoors tennis tournament on November 3.... Bridget Ballard '10 and Melissa Kim '10 were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams in women's soccer; David Walls '11 was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team in men's soccer.... The men's and women's cross-country teams earned fifth-place finishes at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at New York City's Van Cortlandt Park on October 30....The NCAA Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct chose fencer Aleksandra Mackiewicz '11 for its annual Sportsmanship Award.... In September, head fencing coach Atilio Tass placed third in the saber division of the Veterans World Championships in Moscow, going 6–2 and advancing to the semifinals before losing to the eventual champion.... Offensive tackle Paul Jasinowski '10 was one of sixteen finalists selected by the National Football Foundation College Hall of Fame for the William V. Campbell Trophy, known as the "academic Heisman." Jasinowski is one of sixteen members of the 2009 National Scholar-Athlete class and will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship.... Colleen Kelly '06 returned to College Hill as a new assistant women's basketball coach.... Bianca Aboubakare '11 and Cassandra Herzberg '12 took the ITA Northeast Regional doubles title by beating a pair from Yale on October 27.... The Cleveland Browns signed tight end Colin Cloherty '09 to its practice squad; he was released by the Indianapolis Colts in late September.... Joe Jamiel '80 and BAM sports reporter Gordon Morton '93 were honored with, respectively, the Outstanding Alumni Award and the Scoop Hudgins Outstanding Sports Information Director Award at the 101st All-American Football Foundation Banquet of Champions in October.
