It was interesting to learn about the yachting mast that lives on as the flagpole on the College Green ("Flag Bearer," Finally, May/June). As the article states, the mast was donated to the Brown naval unit. Unfortunately, though, due to the unpatriotic actions of the faculty and students during the late 1960s, the naval unit that the mast honored did not survive. Take down the flag from the mast; Brown does not deserve to fly it.
