She and her husband were the principal benefectors of the $5 million renovation of the former Rogers Hall, which was renamed the Richard and Edna Salomon Center for Teaching in 1989. "Edna is the quiet one of this dynamic duo," Howard Swearer said at a dinner before the building's dedication.
"Mrs. Salomon inspired Mr. Salomon," added then-president Vartan Gregorian.
She served on the boards of the New York Philharmonic and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and as codirector of the Richard and Edna Salomon Foundation. She is survived by three sons, including Richard, 610 Fifth Ave., 7th Floor, New York City 10020; and twelve grandchildren, including David '90, Christina '92, Evanne Salomon Gargiulo '94, Rachel '97, and Jennifer '98.
