On Saturday evening, after our class reception at Olive’s, a lucky group of us were entertained by Harry Connick Jr. at the pops concert. Others were amused by class president Mike McGarry’s running commentary at the late-night party in our Harkness headquarters. Our kids, happy to pile on top of Tom Perrelli, were already worn out from romping around Field Day and watching a few of our classmates give a friendly “spanking” to the seniors in the alumni rugby game. It would have made Dave Zucconi ’55 proud.
On Sunday, after a service honoring departed classmates and a class meeting in which John Jarrell ’91 Sc.M. was added to the newly elected group of class officers, we were captivated by our class seminar. The topic and lively discussion inspired talk for the rest of the weekend—look for more on brownclassof88.com—as did the amazing $50,000 fund-raising effort led by Mirtha Cabral for a Latin American Library Endowment. Afterward, we grooved to Dave Binder (who looks a lot closer to our age these days) on Pembroke Green and then took in WaterFire downtown.
Monday a dedicated group of us took to College Hill, some for the fifteenth consecutive year! We marched in a monsoon but carried our soaked banners with spirit. We hooted and cheered and hailed the happy class of ’03.
Thank you to everyone who attended the reunion and those at Brown who helped us out. We missed those of you who couldn’t be there. Please update your information in the alumni directory so we can keep in touch. And please join us, and hopefully the sun, in five years for our twentieth!
