Men's ice hockey forward Jordan Pietrus '10 received the Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award, given by the Hockey Commissioners' Association in honor of former U.S. Army player Derek Hines, who was a "consummate team player and team builder" and who was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan in September 2006.... Among this year's Academic All-Ivy honorees are Duriel Hardy '10 (men's indoor track and field), Garrett Leffelman '11 (men's basketball), Adam Pantel '10 (men's fencing), J.D. Pinto '10 (men's swimming and diving), Aaron Volpatti '10 (men's ice hockey), Chelsey Binkley '11 (gymnastics), Krista Consiglio '11 (skiing), Danielle Grunloh '10 (women's track and field), Christina Johnson '10 (women's basketball), and Laura Pyne '10 (women's squash).... Sean Morey '99 signed a multiyear contract with the Seattle Seahawks.... Lacrosse attackman Thomas Muldoon '10 is one of ten finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off the playing field.... Yann Danis '04 was named to the ECAC Hockey men's All-Decade team.... Ali Brewer '00 and Tara Mounsey '03 were picked for the ECAC Hockey women's All-Decade first team.... Former Brown blueliner and current Wesleyan head coach Jodi McKenna '98 served as an assistant coach for the United States women's ice hockey team that captured the silver medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.... At the Ivy Swimming and Diving Championships, Kristin Jackson '13 broke a twenty-two-year-old school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, and diver Katie Olko '10 was named the Career High Point Diver at the meet.
