Three Brown veterans played in the women's Olympic hockey gold-medal final in on February 21. Two of them - Tara Mounsey '04 and Katie King '97 - competed for the U.S. team, while Becky Kellar '97 skated for the Canadian squad that grabbed the gold with a 3в2 win. Kellar had an assist in the winning effort; King scored one of the two U.S. goals; and Mounsey contributed two assists in the team's silver-medal performance. After upsetting Dartmouth in early February, thanks to thirty-one saves from goaltender Yann Danis '04, men's hockey moved up to eighth place in the ECAC, a dramatic improvement over the team's twelfth-place finish in the twelve-team conference each of the past two seasons . In mid-February women's gymnastics scored more than 190 points in a meet for the first time this season, setting the stage for the Ivy Championships at Brown on February 24 . Heavyweight Bronson Lingamfelter '02 became only the second Brown wrestler ever to earn 100 wins during the weekend of February 9б10 . Women's squash ended its regular season in mid-February with a 10е5 record . Led by first-year coach Peter Brown, the women's swim team finished its season with a 5в2 Ivy record.
