Bear Art

September 8th, 2016

Bruno’s having a blue period. Pass by Ashamu Dance Studio and you can’t miss the latest in public art at Brown, Swiss artist Urs Fischer’s twenty-three-foot-tall “Untitled Lamp/Bear.” The massive sculpture went up this summer, thanks to the efforts of the Public Art Committee. This bear,  meant to interrogate “what happens when two specific objects meet in an imagined space,”  is one of a series of three. A yellow version was previously installed in front of the Seagram Building on Park Avenue in New York City.
