The BAM Holiday Gift Guide

Bargain hunting? Don’t know what holiday gift to get for that fussy friend or relative? Here’s a chance to save a buck and support Brown alums while shopping from the comfort of home. For the seventh year, the BAM has scouted out inventive and entrepreneurial alumni whose creations make inspired gifts and most of whom are willing to cut prices for our readers.

Flip through the gift ideas on the following pages, and you’ll discover ingenuity and quality. Check out the full-size kayak that folds up for easy travel; inspired by an alum’s love of origami, it fits into a portable case you can store in a studio apartment or the baggage compartment of an airplane. Peruse the marine prints that are as striking as they are accurate, made by a nature-lover who gave up his desk job as an environmental activist to become an artist.

You can also look over some of the CDs and books that alumni have created this year, including a stack of picture books and middle-grade fiction that may get the young people in your life off Facebook long enough to actually read a book.

Look for the gift codes listed with most items and get ready to save.
