A tough fall for Brown teams: Although Jessie Cooper ’03 ended her college career number-two all-time at Brown in career kills, the volleyball team had only a 10–16 record.... Women’s soccer went 5–10–2 after a dramatic 2–0 win against Yale in its final game; the Elis, though, beat the field hockey team in its last game, leaving the Bears at 7–9 overall.... After battling its way to the semifinals, the women’s tennis team lost to Princeton in the ECAC tournament at Flushing Meadows, New York, in October. The men’s tennis team, under new head coach Jay Harris, also lost its semifinal ECAC match, to Harvard.... Women’s cross country finished tenth out of thirty-six teams at the NCAA Northeast Regionals in New York City in November, while men’s cross country finished fifth out of thirty-three teams.... The equestrian team finished first, again, in the region.... Olympians Joanna Zeiger ’92, who finished fourth in the 2000 Sydney triathlon, and Xeno Müller ’95, who won a rowing gold medal in the 1996 games, were among those inducted into the Brown Athletics Hall of Fame in November.
