The Children are Free: Reexamining the Biblical Evidence on Same-Sex Relationships, by Rev. Jeff Miner and John Tyler Connoley, provides an alternative interpretation of Biblical passages that are often used to deem homosexuality a sin. The authors present analyses of translations, especially between Hebrew and Greek, and describe ancient beliefs and practices that were codified by Judaic law. Using primary and secondary sources, they affirm their own beliefs and values within a Christian ideology. The book argues that the New Testament does not condemn same-sex desire within the context of a loving relationship between two people. The authors examine the current discourse on homosexuality and human rights and liberties critically, not emotionally. It is a fast read.
